Southeast WI | So last year the FFA kids decided they wanted to do a petting zoo at the high school/middle school building. I thought they were nuts because the area to hold the animals is in the MIDDLE of the school. They got it cleared with the admin group and it was a huge success. Kids and teachers loved it.
Our Palmyra-Eagle school district straddles the Jefferson and Waukesha county line. Jefferson is fairly rural and Waukesha is suburban. I think only one family is a full time farmer in our district. Lot of garage farmers and part time farmers so it's good to show off and talk about animals.
So today they wanted to finish up FFA week with the zoo again. We set some pens up yesterday and walked the critters into the building early this morn. Kids started pouring into the ag room a little after 7 to see what was up. I think it's pretty cool. Took a little time but well worth it.
