Subject: Vermeer BW5500 bale wrapper - made some haylage

Kingdom of Callaway - Fulton, Mo 65251

We had 50 acres of wheat planted as a cover crop for alfalfa. I wanted to get it off the field, and the local Vermeer dealer had a new Vermeer inline bale wrapper he wanted to use somewhere for a demonstration, so we baled and wrapped the wheat.

The wheat was not as far along as it should have been, but I wanted it off the field as it supposed to rain  most of next week.  We ended up with 253 4x5 bales.  They were really heavy to handle, but it hopefully will be nice feed.

Has anyone else used one?  It worked really well.  This one was selfpropelled which was nice because we only had room where I wanted to store the bales for 50ish bales per row.  So we had to move and start several different rows.

I was wondering about looking at one that wasn't self propelled to save some money.  I will load one with a skidloader, so, it would be easy to move it around for a new line.
