Subject: Wheat rust and pivot applied N

Central NE
Have applied N thru pivot for as long as I have grown wheat. Never had to spray for rust.

Last year had winter killed stand and heavily applied N in early March to produce tillers. Did not put much N on with pivot. Had to spray for a severe case of rust.

This year it's been cloudy and wet more than sunny and dry. Supposedly good weather for rust formation. I'm not seeing any signs again. Is it too early for Nebraska, or can it be no wheat around for miles, or can pivot applications of N keep it at bay?
