Subject: 1440 and Shelbourne stripper

Wangaratta, Victoria, Australia
Will a IH 1440 handle a 18 foot Shelbourne stripper header there is one for sale about 2 hrs drive away I might go have a look at.

Do they do a good job in oats I want to sow a new pasture this year and put a cover crop of oats over it that will be shorter than the pasture at maturity.

I was thinking that the stripper header may pull the heads off the oats and leave the pasture to fully establish as it will still be growing when the oats are ready to harvest.

Any thoughts would be great
