Subject: Reviewing earlier threads about KSI conveyors and Westfield auger

I grow rice and stating that it's hard on auger flighting is an understatement. Let's move on !

I asked about the KSI conveyor last winter and got some good replies, thanks to those who did. Time has come to pull the trigger on replacing a 13" auger with swing. I am limited on space around several bins so a long belt is not an option and at harvest manpower is always limited so the ease of moving a swing design is a plus. I have found that because of the abrasiveness and drag associated with the physical movement of rice the swing limits my capacity to about 4000 bu. an hour with any 13" auger I have owned. I have narrowed my choices to two products both 72' in lengths (tallest bin is 37' so with a 72' auger the angle is 32 degrees) a Westfield MKX 13" with "The Gulp" driveover swing or the KSI 1612 conveyer with swing belt design. Opinions and suggestions please !
