Subject: 850C Deere and Waynes tile plow plumbing

slippery rock pa
Deere "C" series dozers are open center, flow compensated systems. Oil comes into first section (unloader valve) on valve stack and returns to tank until a function is activated. The only oil that flows through the control valves is the load sense circuit. When a control valve is activated it blocks the load sense port which closes the unloader valve and sends oil to control valve.

When auxiliary ports are used on the main valve oil will not be not be sent to aux ports without the load sense circuit being blocked. To get auxiliary load sense you must remove the hex plug in the outside end of valve body and insert an 1/8" pipe plug, then run a load sense line to the plow. The load sense line can be teed in any where after the quick coupler of the pressure supply to the plow. By doing this when a plow function is activated it will block the open center of the valve on plow and create pressure in load sense circuit which will close the unloader valve of dozer and supply oil to plow. The only disadvantage to doing this is that the blade valve will only function when you hold a plow function against relief( hold plow in raise position and operate blade at same time). If you want to do any pushing with the plow mounted all you have to do is uncouple the pressure supply to plow, leave load sense and return hooked up. The load sense will run through open center of the plow and back through return and let the blade valve function as normal. When plow is removed you MUST remove the 1/8" pipe plug and everything is back to normal ( when hex plug is removed to access 1/8" plug the oil tank will drain, just duct tape a shop vac to the tank fill and it will hold the oil in the tank and allow you to change plug without losing oil).

I have had no issues with this system in 400 hrs that I have ran it and the oil stays cool.

Here are some picture and descriptions that should help you.

Picture 1- Hook 3/4" hoses to the aux pressure and return ports in the first section of the valve of the dozer. its the 90 degree fitting in the left rear of picture, other one is on the bottom of valve.

Picture 2 - hook 1/2" line to load sense line on top of valve and run to plow and tee into pressure line (pic 3)

picture 4 and 5- remove allen plug and insert 1/8" pipe plug inside valve body and reinstall allen plug. This sends load sense oil out to plow, when plow is removed from dozer remove 1/8" pipe plug

picture 6 unplug pressure coupler to plow for use of dozer blade as normal, to use blade while tiling you must relief a function on the plow to send oil to blade valve

picture 7- adjust set screw on pressure side of feeder valve to limit flow to feeder, this will help with oil heating. Engine should not labor when feeder is on, get flow close for feeder speed with set screw then fine tune speed with flow valve on feeder.
