NE of Des Moines | I tired the search without any success.
Wasn't there a thread awhile back about adding tea to a calfs milk to give it a little boost?
I've got Irish Dexters and one of the cows had a calf sometime Sat night, found the calf Sunday morning, all dried off and content. Nice little heifer from registered parents but its just a little bitty squirt 25 lbs at the most. I wasn't expecting any calves for another month so this was a suprize for sure. I've been feeding the calf some colostrum milk every three hours, trying to get the calf through the first few days so it will be stronger and start nurseing from its mom. any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. | |
