I have video card that lets me watch TV on my computer. There have been a few times when I wish I could have burned the show to a DVD for viewing on our TV or somebody else's TV. I've tried to do it from Windows Media Center but it never worked. It would take hours and still nothing. I discovered that I can take the DVR-MS file into Windows Movie Maker and create a DVD from there quite easily. In addition I can cut out the front lead in and the garbage at the end of shows. If I wanted I could even take out all the commercials. That however would require more work than I want to invest. I'm running Vista Ultimate with 4GB of memory and a dual core 2.4 GH processor. It takes almost 1 hour for a 1 hour show, but I can do whatever else I want while it's working. I think at some point I will upgrade to a newer processor and a lot more memory in a newer computer. I'd like to cut that time down to about a 3rd of that. |
