Subject: Problem in MS Word 2007

Rock County, MN

I can draw a table, write some functions like sum, if etc. But I am unable to copy these functions to the adjacent rows or columns. For example if I need to calculate a sum of five subject marks for ten students I need to write the formula for each student. Is it any way to copy this?

Here's what I found. When you copy the cell to an adjacent cell, it does copy the formula, but it is still referencing the original cells. To get the copied formula to reference the corresponding cells, you need to:

1. Select all the copied formulas; you have to do this carefully. Select the first FIELD by highlighting just the number, not the whole cell. Hold down and select the other fields one by one until all the numbers are highlighted.
2. Let up off
3. Right click on one of the highlighted fields.
4. Left click on Update Field.
5. Now your sums should all be correct.
