Anyone dealt with a "Personal Antivirus" worm and have a good and reputable removal tool ? A friend has a computer running Vista and runs Norton Antivirus. She picked up this Personal Antivirus Trojan. This page describes it and has a screenshot. It's a fake warning type virus trying to get you to pay for fake virus protection. She called Norton and they were going to charge her $99 to remove it. Funny how you pay for a software subscription to prevent something, it fails, and then you are supposed to pay again to remove what it was supposed to catch. I'd never run Norton again after my own personal experiences. Anyhow just wondering if anyone has a reputable removal tool for this infection ? There is one listed on the page I linked but you never know if you are getting into more trouble downloading supposed solutions. I'm out of the loop on dealing with these as I simply don't have to deal with these using Panda. Any help would be greatly appreciated Von |
